Nick Lenning

Partner

Nick Lenning has led and contributed to matters generating more than US$250 million in recoveries and settlements for patent holders. A trial lawyer focused on high-stakes patent enforcement, he handles cases in district courts nationwide and Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission. Nick builds cases to win, not just to file.

His practice centers on developing and executing monetization strategies, including litigation campaigns, licensing efforts, and funded enforcement actions. He represents inventors, operating companies, and institutional patent owners, and works closely with litigation funders to structure and advance commercially viable cases. He is frequently engaged at the outset of a matter to assess and shape enforcement strategy from a business and litigation perspective.

That advocacy plays out across major patent venues nationwide, including Texas, California, Delaware, and the ITC, where Nick has served as lead counsel in multiple investigations. His matters span a range of technologies, including semiconductors, circuitry, software, and consumer products.

In addition to his trial experience in private practice, Nick served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul L. Friedman in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia for two years and as a Special Prosecuting Attorney in King County, Washington, where he second-chaired felony jury trials.
